Immersed in a placid euphoria of wanderlust I head straight out of the door grabbing the closest things I can find and throwing them into my leather rug sack. I can’t shake the feeling that I am outdoors but something has that fresh new car smell, or perhaps opening a box of new expensive shoes (leather, hence expensive) and the realization kicks in pointing at the super stylish brown bag resting on my back.
There is something about leather that instantly makes me feel uplifted from the nerd table to the cool kids around the block that you admire and fear at the same time. I’m not sure if it is the timeless look that this backpack adheres to, but when I first laid my eyes on this bag from Swish & Swank I knew that it was going to be one of those items that I will sling over my stroller when I have reached my granny phase. The best thing about leather is the older it gets, the more character it gains, the better it looks, especially with a design like this. It is timeless in every way.
So to bring all this together, for the look post I went for a more folk type of style with a tweed coat matched with a classic white button shirt over pajama pants (because pajamas are so hot right now). In the second look a dress over a polo neck, Vogue preached and apparently this is how a dress needs to be worn, it doesn’t make sense to me but considering that we South African are going through seasonal changes it makes allot of sense to wear your dress this particular way, but only for that reason!
For this shoot I styled, modeled and photographed myself, which was no easy feat, as I have been getting allot of questions about this lately. My head is bursting with ideas and I want to capture everything but sometimes it is not easy to do everything and thus some things will remain only mine.
